内容
　　アフリカで商売を営むイギリス商人パーカーは、友人のホルトと一緒に象の墓場といわれる秘境の探検に出発するが、たまたまイギリスから帰ってきたパーカーの娘ジェーンも一行に加わる。
　一行は途中、見知らぬ原住民の一団やカバの大群に襲われるが、その度にターザンの叫び声に救われる。
　そして、ある夜、野営する一行の前にターザンが姿を現わし、ジェーンをさらっていく。ジェーンは初めターザンを恐れるが、やがてふたりの仲は親密になっていく。
　歴代のターザン役者のなかでもっとも有名なワイズミューラーのデビュー作。この作品から例の“アーアアー！”というターザンの叫び声が始まった。
