アメリカの冒険小説家エドガー・ライス・バロウズが1912年に発表した『類人猿ターザン』を原作にしたディズニー長編アニメーション第37弾。全編に流れるオリジナル曲を、元ジェネシスのドラマー兼ボーカリスト、フィル・コリンズが担当したのも話題になった。 荒波に船を叩きこわされ、上陸した島で生まれた子供の両親は豹に食い殺された。残された乳飲み子はゴリラのカーラに拾われターザンと名付けられ、育てられた。 青年となったターザンは、島に上陸してきた女性ジェーンとその父・動物学者ポーターと仲良くなる。だが、同行していたクレイトンにはターザンには思いもつかない悪巧みがあったのだった。 |
